Aimersoft DVD Ripper Failed to Rip DVD in Full! Want an Alternative?

I have Aimersoft DVD Ripper for Mac in hope that it will rip a personal DVD which I could not with other free ripping software MakeMKV and Handbrake. Unfortunately, it was not able to do so either.

Aimersoft DVD Ripper Failed to Rip DVD in Full

The DVD I tried to rip contained a digitized version of my old 8mm films.  It simply downloaded about 12 minutes, that screen made me believe that the entire hour, or so, on the DVD was downloaded but in fact, it downloaded only a small portion of the DVD. No error messages were displayed. I try to rip again this time it ripped 30’57” out of the 1h17’ the ripper did not display any error message, just quit and asked if I want to open the ripped file as is shown below:

I then tried some of my other DVDs, unfortunately, the product has not performed to my requirements. Of the 4 DVD movies I attempted to rip, each did not complete the task. I attempted to rip Ratatouille (Disney) and only obtained 23:48 of the total time. I attempted to rip “Cars 3” (also Disney) and obtained several 2 and 1-minute clips. “How to Train Your Dragon” ripped 47 minutes on the first attempt and 52 minutes the second time around (total running time should be 1:37 or so). A Chuggington DVD ripped only 2 episodes, no more.

As a result of the software’s failure to rip the DVD properly, I decided to try some other DVD rippers.

Aimersoft DVD Ripper Alternative

There seem to be big problems for Aimersoft in DVD ripping, so I’d like to recommend some as an alternative.

WonderFox DVD Video Converter is an all-in-one DVD ripping, video converting, and YouTube downloading solution for Windows 7, 8/8.1, and Windows 10. It can be a good replacement to Aimersoft DVD Ripper with the support of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc., Warner Bros Pictures, Universal Pictures, UNITED ARTISTS, 20th Century Fox, and The Walt Disney protected DVDs and is able to convert DVDs to ISO, SD and HD VOB, MKV, TS/MTS/M2TS, WMV, MPEG, WEBM as well as MP4 AVI iPhone/iPad/Apple TV and more.

It also works as a powerful video converter that converts all most videos between each other. Downloading YouTube and other online videos is a bonus feature as well!  You are able to add external subtitles for your DVD and videos.

Abundant Output Profiles

Update: WonderFox DVD Video Converter adds the 1:1 copy mode in a recent update, making it the fastest DVD ripper.

Leawo DVD Ripper is always one of the top DVD ripping solutions and is highly recommended by me to rip and convert encrypted DVDs to almost all video formats like MP4, AVI, MKV. And it supports ripping 2D DVDs to 3D MP4 for VR headsets.

It is available for both Windows and macOS, so it can be a perfect alternative for Aimersoft DVD Ripper for macOS. Also, as is tested by me, Aimersoft DVD Ripper is not FULLY compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra and you can see the details here.

AnyMP4 DVD Ripper is one of the best DVD ripping solutions that I recommend in Best Bluray DVD Rippers for PC and Mac. As an Aimersoft DVD Ripper alternative, it is featured in various profiles for 2D DVD to 3D video rippings. Just take a look at the 3D options in almost every profile:

AnyMP4 3D Options

AnyMP4 supports copy-protected DVDs from different manufacturers like Disney, Pixar, Paramount, etc. You are able to rip your favorite DVDs on both Windows and macOS machines:

Besides, AnyMP4 is one of the few ripping solutions that are able to split DVD by chapters, which I think is a really useful option for some of us.

DVDFab is no doubt the most powerful DVD ripping solution. It supports all kinds of DVD copy protections like CSS, region code, etc with hardware acceleration on both PC and Mac, which makes DVD ripping faster. If you are on a Mac, DVDFab can be your first choice to rip DVDs with CUDA, DXVA, AMD App, Intel Quick Sync, and CoreAVC for decoding and encoding, while others only support 1-level or not even available.

DVDFab is really rich in options, like 2-pass encoding, subtitle remuxing, etc. With DVDFab, you are able to preserve chapters or split DVDs into chapters as well.

With DVDFab, you are able to always rip DVD to one profile with your customized names and forced subtitles. Check this guide for help.
