Troubleshooting-Cannot Detect Galaxy S9?

If the dr.fone Android Data Recovery cannot detect your Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, please enable the USB debugging in the device to make it detected.

Galaxy S9/S9 Plus runs the latest Android OS Android O 8.1.0 and you are able to enable the USB Debugging by going to Settings-About device, and tap Build number for 5 times until you get the message that reads:”You are under developer mode”. Then go back to Settings-Developer options, and check USB debugging. (It’s the same if you are still running Android 8.0.0)

Galaxy S9 Developer Mode

The above guide works for Android 4.2 or newer versions like 6.0.1, 7.1.1 etc.

Besides, as we can see dr.fone supports over 6000 Android devices from Android 2.2 to Android 9.0, aka, Android P. And actually this guide of how to recover data on Android also works for other Android devices. If your Android device is running on an older operating system, the steps to enable the USB debugging are different. And you can see the details below:

  • For Android 3.0 to 4.1 (here 4.0 is the example), navigate to Settings-Developer options, and then check USB debugging.
  • For Android 2.3 or earlier, go to Settings-Applications-Development, and then check USB debugging.

Hello..i tried the trial version of your product.
It failed to recover or read for that matter my s9 plus after it was mistakenly set to factory reset mode. It fails after trying to root the device.
I looked at other rooting software. But during the installation process it want to wipe the phone first which seems like that the opposite of what i want to do…
I had videos and pics and conversations i wanted to keep.
Is this a lost cause just asking.
Thank you.

Hi Hank,
I have opened the link you sent me and connected the phone following the instructions here on the site. Clicked on the black screen option on the recovery page. on the following screen where i am asked to select my device type from the list, my phone is not shown. Also if i click the device not listed tab and enter the details of my device when I press OK nothing happens? I am forced to close the window with no details being sent/submitted.? I hope this helps without the picture. Thanks

Hello, I have a problem with my s9 and I think this is the only place that can offer me a sulution. I was happy using my fingerprint to unlock my phone and when the battery died I realized that I forgot my unlock pattern.I saw some interesting stuff here about some recovery patch and such where I can factory reset my device without losing my precious data. Does the software supports galaxy s9? I’m really willing to pay good money to get my data back. Thank you very much in advance.

Thank you very much for the fast answer. When I download, should I go for the unlock tool or the recovery one? If I choose the recovery one, should I hard reset my device first then recover my data? Sorry for all those questions, I really can’t mess that up. My phone isn’t rooted by the way.

Hi, I have a Samsung s9 (android version 9.0). 2 days ago my phone blacked out with an error ‘Device storage corrupted’, data partition corrupted prompting me to factory reset the phone. I tried to wipe cachet and run it on safe mode but none of that worked. Eventually i had to reset my phone. After that, my photos saved to device (not synced to Google photos) are all gone. Is there anyway to recover my data with your software? Does it require rooting my phone?

Many Thanks
Hui

Hi
I tried the data recovery twice now, with the same failure about I need to root the phone before it can work…? your step-by-step guide and comments here says i don’t have to root.
It stops the “analysing device” at about 90% and then goes to “trying the alternate method” and a fail pops up, What do?
(Galaxy S9)
Thanks in advance – Aabo

I purchased Dr Fone to recover deleted photos from my S9. When I run the recover option it advises that the phone is not rooted and it can only detect files not yet deleted. I need the files that are not deleted. I need the files that are deleted.

Internet searches leads me to believe a US Verizon S9 can’t be rooted. Any suggestions?

Hello Guys. I just try the older version of Dr.Fone 10.7.1 provided by Mr.Hunk! for Samsung S9.
In this older version of Dr.Fone is the button “Root” visible and i can click on it and the root process has started, followed with restarting my Samsung S9 phone. I wait and tell you the outcome if it is rooted successfully. :)

Outcome:
After my phone S9 rebooted a few times it provides the message: Galaxy S9 is not supported.” Bassically Dr.Fone cant root S9 phones for now. Is there a patch for this? Thanks for the fast response.
