Great DVD Ripping Solution for DVD to iPad, iPhone, Apple TV and iPod on PC and Mac

I purchased the latest 256Gb iPad Pro and transferred my CD collections to it. I then decided I would like to transfer my protected DVD collections and rip DVDs to the iPad as well because I want to watch the newly released DVDs.

Initially, I looked for and tried various free software but when I try Leawo DVD Ripper, I was so impressed with the quality and ease. The fact the software does the DVD to iPad ripping so quickly is a bonus. Friends that have seen the videos have been equally impressed. I always mention the software that I used and here I’d like to recommend this program for all you guys along with a guide on how to rip DVD to iPad on PC and Mac.

Great DVD Ripping Solution for iPhone/iPad/iPod

As I have a number of mobile devices including, iPhone, iPad, iPod, Samsung Galaxy S9, it’s good to be able to convert to different formats by selecting from a list rather than having to investigate what codec a device will process.  With hundreds of profiles built-in, Leawo DVD Ripper offers a great DVD ripping solution for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and iPod as well as Samsung Galaxy series, etc. Except for ripping, the application is also feature-rich in cropping, trimming, merging, and 2D to 3D converting. You are able to rip DVDs with forced subtitle or add any SRT subtitle for you iPhone, iPad, iPod and custom the video and audio codec, resolution, aspect ratio, etc.

And, as far as I know, Leawo DVD Ripper is 100% compatible with the latest Windows 10 and macOS Big Sur. Ripping DVDs to iPhone and iPad on Apple Silicon M1 Macs is at ease with Leawo.

Rip Protected DVD to iPad iPhone etc

My main requirement is the quality of the output and since I’m only transferring material for personal use, the decryption is important as well. Removing DVD copy protections like CSS, region code, RCE, Sony ArccOS, and UOPs and special DVD copy protections from Disney, BBC, Beachbody, etc is just a few mouse clicks in Leawo and it is constantly upgraded to support the latest protections. So it’s always ready for copying protected DVD movies and transferring them to your iPhone/iPad. Ripping those DVDs to iPad, iPhone with Leawo is way easier than other applications because you don’t always have to check titles before ripping.

Besides, there is one more thing that you guys need to know. Leawo does not seem to upgrade the program very often as the version number does not change for a long period. However, please don’t worry, Leawo keeps upgrading its kernel automatically. So, it’s highly recommended you guys use the program with an Internet connection. You will see the below window on PC when Leawo updates itself. Make sure to click Yes to allow the changes.

How to Rip Protected DVD to iPad

I have a simple user guide here explaining how to rip DVDs to iPad, iPhone, or iPod on Windows 10, macOS Catalina, Big Sur. So, let’s get started. Although the screenshots are taken on Windows, this guide also applies to the macOS version of Leawo DVD Ripper as they look and work the same.

Please follow the above buttons to free download the DVD to iPad Ripper, install and launch it.

Step 1. What you will have to do first is to load the DVD to the program by clicking the Add Bluray/DVD button from the Convert tab on top. Choose the DVD you want from the DVD drive.

Step 2. You will then be presented to choose the Full, Main or Custom mode with Main Mode by default and click OK to continue.

I do not quite recommend Full Movie mode, but Main Movie for movie DVDs and Custom Mode for TV shows.

Step 3. If you want a video for iPhone, go MP4 Video [the default one], Devices->Apple. You will all iPhone models are supported by Leawo. Just go for the one you have.

iPhone Profiles

You are also free to move your mouse over those profiles and click the Edit icon to set detail parameters for ripping.

Step 4. There are no more other steps needed except clicking the big blue Convert button.

So, it is just as easy as that even with Disney protected DVDs which are always specially encrypted. If you don’t know how to cope with them, the above guide helps.

Bottom line, I like the UI and I was using the software effectively within a few minutes without having to refer to the help facility and it is fully compatible with Windows 10 and macOS Big Sur and ARM MACs. Since many of my DVDs are concerts/gigs it is also good to be able to specify to the second the clip I want. At present, the software Leawo DVD Ripper does everything I need of removing the copy protection and ripping DVD to iPad Pro.
